This consists of highly-qualified document examiners with the technical equipment necessary to evaluate the authenticity of ID documents. They also have access to reference documents which can be used for comparison purposes. The National Police Immigration Service, major police districts and certain airports all have second line control, who co-operate closely with first line control.
