Iraq Project

The fourth largest group of immigrants to Norway come from Iraq. According to Statistics Norway, there were a total of 28,935 Iraqi immigrants and children born to Iraqi immigrants in Norway as per January 1, 2012. There are question marks hanging over the identity of many of these people. The main aim of the project was to survey the problems surrounding identity issues for Iraqis, and suggest methods for establishment and clarification of identity for this group. Our intention was to aid the immigration authorities in their evaluation of applications from Iraqi immigrants with doubtful identities, and to contribute to a reduction in these cases.

The project leader was Cathrine Fari.
